HMT LLP faced significant challenges with their incumbent supplier for phones and internet lines. The high costs and frequent issues with troubleshooting impacted their business operations. Despite attempts to streamline the process, the lack of cooperation from the supplier led to ongoing problems for the past three years of their five-year contract.

Solution

ACT Systems delivered a Microsoft 365 Teams Phone System for HMT LLP, replacing their existing phone services and taking over the internet connection from the incumbent supplier. Following a successful trial, ACT Systems worked closely with key stakeholders to scope the solution and ensure it met operational requirements before proceeding with full implementation.

The project was delivered using a structured, three‑stage approach covering planning, migration, and post‑migration support. This ensured existing phone numbers were transitioned smoothly, with minimal disruption to day‑to‑day operations. Particular care was taken to manage the migration of a large number of phone numbers and to meet critical supplier cut‑off deadlines.

Once live, the new solution removed the need for on‑premise infrastructure and simplified telephony management through Microsoft Teams. The result was a more flexible, reliable communications platform that delivered significant cost savings and enabled staff to manage calls seamlessly across desktop and mobile devices.
