Business case

Quick Circuits, sought to fortify their security measures and promote their commitment to cybersecurity with the Cyber Essentials certification. Facing the dual challenge of certification requirements and the integration of legacy machines into the network, Quick Circuits engaged ACT Systems to address these concerns without compromising operational efficiency.

We began this project with a tinge of apprehension knowing there might be issues with production equipment driven by systems that would fall outside the scope of Cyber Essentials, but ACT Systems found solutions where we saw problems and together the process became straight forward with no real effect on the manufacturing side of the business.

Solution

ACT Systems implemented a comprehensive cybersecurity strategy to meet the Cyber Essentials criteria. This involved stringent security measures, including firewalls, patch management systems, network splitting and server migrations.

As part of aligning with Cyber Essentials requirements, ACT Systems ensured that key security controls were in place across the environment, including protection against malware threats, secure system configuration and effective access management.

ACT Systems also designed a segregated network for older manufacturing machines, ensuring their functionality while mitigating potential security risks.

The phased implementation process, coupled with effective communication and training, resulted in Quick Circuits successfully achieving the Cyber Essentials certification and enhancing its overall cybersecurity posture implementing solutions for device monitoring and SaaS and server cloud backups to improve their business continuity and disaster recovery (BCDR) standing.
